Juliane Sari (Debbie) Manurung, S.H.

Debbie graduated from Padjadjaran University, Bandung with a degree in law. Before she founded FUSION, Debbie was a Partner in Suryomurcito & Co (Rouse International’s Partner in Indonesia) where she leaded the Dispute Resolution Team. She was a lead counsel in several high-profile patent revocation cases and major bad faith trademark litigations.

She handled successfully many prominent cases in areas of practice of Intellectual Property, namely Trade Mark Cancellation Action, Appeal against the Decision of Trade mark Appeal Commissions, Trade Mark Infringement Lawsuit, Patent Revocation Lawsuit, Copyrights Cancellation Action.

Debbie gained exposure serving international clients and established cooperation with International IP Firms. As the Indonesia Counsel Member of ASEAN Intellectual Property Association (ASEAN IPA), the Executive Officer of Indonesia Intellectual Property Mediation and Arbitration Board (BAM HKI) and former Deputy of Secretary-General of Indonesian Registered IP Attorneys Association, she is the forefront of law reform.

She is also active in raising the IP protection to support SMEs and Start-up Company as the Facilitator in several Creative Economy Body’s events and by hosting a seminar in cooperation with World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).

In 2019, she spoke in the National Seminar of the UNCLOS on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Jurisdiction -jointly organized by Coordinating Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the Law Harmonization on the Protection of Marine Genetic Resources (in July 2019) and gave a lecturer on IP Landscape in Indonesia for Taiwan Intellectual Property Office and Taiwan Patent Attorney Association in Taiwan (in August 2019).

She is a registered IP Attorney, Accredited Plant Varieties Protection Consultant and Certified Arbitrator in Indonesia as well as member of Indonesian Advocates Organization (Perhimpunan Advokat Indonesia/PERADI) and holds a license to practice in Indonesian Courts. She speaks Bahasa Indonesia and English.
